While health service provision is not direct responsibility of the
London Assembly, I
believe it has a campaigning role to improve health services
for Londoners.
Better services for Londoners
Londoners pay more tax than other parts of the UK - they should enjoy
better health services. I believe that much more must be done to improve
primary health care, cut waiting lists and improve hospital performance.

Accident & Emergency should treat you within 30 minutes
The current situation where people have
to wait up to 4 hours or longer to be treated is completely
unacceptable. Like many, I know from personal experience the agony of
the wait. A core commitment of my campaign is that we should find
resources ensure that most people receive immediate care and with no
wait longer than 30 minutes.
Tackling health inequalities
We must address the health inequalities in our capital. Half of
London boroughs have life expectancy figures significantly below the
average for the UK - this is simply wrong.
Better government means better healthcare for all Londoners.
